Fear and Marriage in Las Vegas
Johnny
got married! Article taken form The Hollywood Reporter:
On
the 29th of March, a secret marriage ceremony took place in Las Vegas between two
of Hollywood’s known celebrities, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis. Only the couple and their children, Jack and Lily-Rose Melody were present. Insiders
say that the marriage was conducted because Vanessa was deeply jealous about Depp’s statement about Kate Winslet. Vanessa
had no idea he had made such a statement and according to close friends, 'wanted to base their relationship as soon as possible'.
This was supposed to have not been known about, but unfortunately for the couple, officials on the set of Depp’s latest
film, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, leaked the secret after having a talk with Depp. No comment was given by either of
the individuals.

Better Dead Than Wed? Ask
Johnny Depp
The second official still from Corpse Bride (coming September 23, 2005) has recently been released
— you can see a mega-big version of it on the Out Now website. You can see the whole trailer on the Warner Bros. Official Site here.
Corpse Bride is a stop-motion animation set in
a 19th century European village, following the trials of a young man (voiced by Johnny Depp) who is spirited away to the underworld
and wed to a mysterious "Corpse Bride" (Helena Bonham-Carter), while his real bride (Emily Watson) waits for him in the land
of the living.
I learned something new today, while searching around on the IMDb:
The legend of the corpse bride began as a nighttime horror story in 19th century Russia. At the time, anti-Semitism was rampant,
and Jewish girls would often be ambushed and murdered on their way to the wedding chapel in order to prevent them from bearing
any future generations. Because of the Jewish tradition of being buried with the clothes one died in, these girls would invariably
be laid to rest wearing their blood-splattered bridal gowns.
This got me to thinking about all the great horror movies Johnny Depp
has made over the years. When I interviewed him for Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, we both
agreed that that movie qualifies as horror. Do you?
